ISLAMABAD, Sept 3: The workers and activists of women wing of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Islamabad, on Monday vowed to accord a befitting welcome to party chairperson Benazir Bhutto on her return to the country.

They held their first function after July 17 bomb blast to welcome the announcement of Ms Bhutto that she would announce the date for her return on September 14.

The PPP workers pledged loyalty to the leadership of Ms Bhutto and to serve the party cause. The workers also pledged that they would stand by each and every policy of Ms Bhutto and offer sacrifices for the restoration of democracy in Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, president of the PPP Islamabad Women Wing Nargis Faiz Malik paid rich tributes to the party workers and supporters for their services to the cause of democracy.

He said they stood by the party despite innumerable pressure and victimisation during trying times. She also paid tributes to the judiciary for its unflappable system of justice and prayed that the same would be applied to rectify the ‘injustice’ faced by Ms Bhutto. She criticized the regime for growing lawlessness and corruption in the country.
