KARACHI, Aug 30: Six ships including those whose arrivals were delayed for a day carrying containers, chemicals and to load cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintain ned on the higher side where eight ships were berthed on Thursday. They are: Y.M.Energy, Hansa Stavanger, Kaptain Byankin, Jitra Bhum, to unload and load containers, Atlantic Express to unload and load general cargo, Banglar Mookh to offload raw jute, and Chmeroad Wing to load ethanol.

Four ships, Rurunpera, Kapitan Byankin, APL Brisbane, and Oel Spirit departed on Thursday, while Shoko Maru, Jitra Bhum, Y.M.Energy, Atlantic Express, Hansa Stavanger, Alitis and Chemroad Wing are due to sail out on Friday.

A total volume of 86,645 tons comprising 22,466 tons of export cargo and 64,179 tons of import tonnage was handled on Thursday.
