By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Aug 20: Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil has called for coordinated efforts to promote the city’s image, saying that Hamara Karachi Hamara Pakistan festival was organized with the same spirit.

Speaking at a news conference at the Karachi Press Club on Monday, she said that the citizens for the first time had been given a common forum so that they could celebrate Independence Day together.

Ms Jalil, who is also the president of Hamara Karachi Foundation, said the event was impressive and people from all sections of society participated in it. She claimed that more than 200,000 people had gathered on the M.A. Jinnah Road by demonstrating complete solidarity.

Sharing the concerns of citizens and hardships being faced by them as a result of ongoing development works, she said these would be soon removed with the completion of development works. She said the city government had been making all-out efforts to develop the city by executing various projects in all areas without any discrimination.

She called upon the media to play its due role in projecting Karachi in a positive way.
