QUETTA, Aug 18: Baloch Women Panel’s activists staged a demonstration for the release of missing persons. The activists gave the government an ultimatum till Monday for the release of the missing persons.
Panel’s spokesperson Shakir Bibi advocate alleged that political workers were arrested and kept in illegal confinement by intelligence agencies. She said the panel would continue its struggle till the release of detainees.
National Party chief Dr Hayee Baloch and Pakistan Bar Council vice chairman
Ali Ahmed Kurd visited the camp of the protesters on Saturday.
Dr Hayee announced his party’s support for the protest movement launched by the panel.
He said his party could differ on the strategy of struggle but the objective of various Baloch political groups was common and that was to protect coast and resources of Balochistan. The NP believed struggle should be launched in a democratic manner to achieve rights for the Baloch people, he added.
Mr Kurd said lawyers would extend legal assistance to the missing persons. He criticised the role of intelligence agencies and alleged that they were using extra constitutional methods for arresting political workers and harassing their family members.
Meanwhile, Mir Mushtaq Qalandrani, the father of a college student, Amirul Mulk Baloch, demanded release of his son.
Amirul Mulk was arrested along with Imran Baloch few days back near Lakpass.
