KARACHI, Aug 18: Six ships carrying containers, coal and to load ethanol and cement are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where six vessels were berthed as under: Kota Gunawan to unload and load containers, Heng Cheng to offload coal, Ibrahim-G to offload tallow,Gem of Goa to load molasses, Al-Maqwa to offload high-speed diesel and Sider Blu to offload steel cargo.

Sailing was also active as half a dozen ships including Johar, Iran Sattari, Song Shan, Conti Harmony, BBC Thailand and Hyundai Sprinter departed on Saturday.

Jaikur-3, Carla, Kota Gunawan, Jade Trader, Al-Maqwa, Sider Blu and Gem of Goa are due to sail out on Sunday after loading and unloading cargoes.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest where a total tonnage of 76,832 tons comprising 24,600 tons of export cargo including 6,493 tons of cement and 52,232 tons of import cargo was handled on Saturday.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Havi Trader to load ethanol, Conti Germany, Hanjin Ningbo with containers, Nikat to offload coal, Asian Queen to load cement, Thunder Lightning to load project cargo.

The following ships are due on Monday: Chem Cosmos with 8,500 tons of palm oil, Mol Ability, Pu He, Viking Merlin and Kapitan Byankin with containers and Pacific Arrow to load cement.
