Dacoit killed

LAHORE, Aug 15: A dacoit was killed in an encounter with Faisalabad police on Tuesday night.

A police spokesman said Jaranwala Sadar police received information that some armed men were looting passers-by after blocking the road near Chak 59-GB.

A police team rushed to the spot. On seeing the police, the robbers opened fire which led to an encounter.

As a result, one of the robbers was killed, while two others escaped.

Meanwhile, a team of Balochni police was on patrol when it spotted a suspected car.

During its search, the police recovered two hand-grenades, a Kalashnikov, a carbine and 300 bullets and arrested car-rider Asghar Ali.—APP
