Paramedics on strike in Mansehra

By Our Correspondent

MANSEHRA, Aug 15: The paramedical staff of Mansehra went on strike on Wednesday against the termination of services of four of their representatives, according to sources.

It has been learnt that the executive district officer (health) for Mansehra had terminated the services of the president of the district chapter of the paramedical staff association, Mohammad Khalid, and three others last week after filing corruption charges against them.

The paramedical staff went on strike against the termination of services of their colleagues.

Due to the strike, outdoor patients suffered tremendously in the district headquarters hospital Mansehra and the basic health units in various areas. However, all male, female, children and emergency wards were functioning as usual in the DHQ Hospital Mansehra, tehsil hospital Oghi and Balakot.

Speaking to the protesters, Mr Khalid said they would continue their strike until the terminated employees were reinstated and all charges withdrawn.

He said that the EDO health had terminated them without any reason.
