PESHAWAR: Traders ask govt to take them into confidence

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, July 17: Traders of the NWFP have asked the federal government to take them into confidence on the proposed formation of a chamber for small traders and industry.

Sharafat Ali Mubarik, general secretary, Markazi Tanzeem-i-Tajiran, NWFP, made this demand while presiding over a meeting of office-bearers of different trade bodies from Bannu here on Tuesday, according to a press release.

He told the gathering that they were in close contact with the federal government for setting up the proposed chamber.

He, however, asked the commerce ministry to avoid nominations while forming the new body and adopt a democratic way for inducting traders’ leaders in it so that the problems of small traders could be addressed accordingly.

Haji Mohammad Rafiq, Haji Maqbool Khan and Haji Akbar Nawaz Khan also attended the meeting.
