Security beefed up in Balochistan

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, July 3: The Balochistan government has placed all law enforcement agencies on high alert throughout the province, particularly in Quetta, after the start of operation against the Lal Masjid’s seminaries in Islamabad.

Provincial Home Secretary Tariq Ayub told Dawn that police had been deployed at all important official buildings and the law enforcement agencies had been asked to keep vigil eye on the seminaries’ students and suspicious people.

He said that the district level peace committees in Balochistan had also been asked to stay alert and maintain peace in their respective areas.

He said the police were strictly checking vehicles at all seven entry points to Quetta.
