Robbers loot Rs2 million

LAHORE, July 3: Robbers looted Rs2 million from the employees of a roof-manufacturing company in Garden Town on Tuesday.

Police said four car-riders stopped employees of Izhaar Group of Industries in front of their office in Tippu Block when they were returning after withdrawing cash from a bank in Model Town. The robbers snatched cash from them and escaped.

Four armed men looted a house and injured its owner in Baghbanpura.

Ilyas told police that the robbers entered his house in Iqbalpura and held hostage his one-and-a-half year old daughter, Zainab, at gunpoint.

They beat Ilyas with butt of guns on resistance and broke his teeth. Later, they fled after collecting cash, jewelllery, wristwatches and electronic goods worth Rs600,000.

Three gun-toting men barged into the house of Bilal in Islampura and made off with Rs8,000 in cash, 20-tola jewellery and three cell phones.

Two armed men stormed into the house of Zulfikar in Samanabad and took away Rs20,000 in cash, prize bonds, jewellery worth Rs200,000 and a DVD player.

Two armed men entered the cell phone outlet of Zafar in Misri Shah and managed their escape with Rs34,000 in cash and eight cell phones.

Yousaf was going along with his family in Islampura when two robbers deprived them of Rs3,500 in cash and two gold bangles.

Two motorcyclists snatched Rs3,000 and a cell phone from a passer-by at Model Town Morr, while as many robbers deprived a citizen of his wallet and a cell phone on Lytton Road.

Three robbers deprived a citizen of his car at Saggian Bridge in Shahdara while two armed men snatched a motorcycle from Asif in Mughalpura.
