ISLAMABAD, July 3: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication on Tuesday expressed its dissatisfaction over the performance of PTCL after its privatization.

The committee, met here under the chairmanship of MNA Tahir Shah to discuss the performance of PTCL and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).

The committee noted that the performance of the PTCL after privatization deteriorated and the ministry of information technology also came under fire for not undertaking practical steps to improving the performance of PTCL.

Secretary Information Technology Farrukh Qayum on thee occasion admitted that the quality of PTCL has declined after its outsourcing and poor management, however, he assured the committee that the new management would overcome all the problems.

He said the PTCL was planning to offer various incentives and facilities to increase its subscribers by providing better facilities in order to compete the mobile substitution in the country.

The meeting was ttended by MNAs Rao Muhammad Ajmal Khan, Sahibzada Mehboob Sultan, Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz, Mrs Balqees Saif, Dr Nasim Afridi, Mir Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, and other senior officials of the ministry.
