KARACHI, June 12: Berthing activity was brisk as four ships to load and unload containers, rice, military helicopters and furnace oil were accommodated berths at QICT, MPT and Fotco Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers, chemicals and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Seven ships, Maersk Darmstad, Khairpur, Tarpon Santiago, Spruce Galaxy, Maior, Steela and Toyal Ocean, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, cement, general cargo, edible oil and furnace oil.

A cargo volume of 86,857 tons comprising 64,906 tons of import and 21,951 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also active as Royal Ocean and Maior left the port.
