Talha extended by Ahad in U-18 tie

KARACHI, May 25: Talha Saeed struggled to beat Ahad Hasan Khan in three sets which placed him in next round of juniors U-18 singles in the 11th Anti Tobacco Day tennis tournament which commenced at Karachi Club on Friday.

After losing the one-sided opener 1-6, he stormed back to claim the next two sets 6-2, 6-4.

All other matches in juniors and boys U-14 singles ended in straight sets.

Boys U-14 singles:

Ali Imran bt Faraz Ahmed Faiz 6-2, 7-5; Mustafa Zaidi bt Shahzeb Nasir 6-2, 6-2; Abdul Rehman bt Saad Noor Sumar 6-0, 6-0; Mahesh Bhatia bt Muneeb Tabani 6-2, 6-0.

Juniors U-18 singles:

Talha Saeed bt Ahad Hasan Khan 1-6, 6-2, 6-4; Talha Masood bt Yayha Essa 6-0, 6-4; Syed Abbas Raza bt Ali Zubair Surmawala 6-3, 6-4; Changez Hasan Ali bt Mahesh Bhatia 6-4, 7-6(9-7); Talha Surmawala bt Osama 6-2, 6-2; Aamir Darvesh bt Faraz Ahmed Faiz 6-0, 6-1.
