LHC bailiff recovers two ‘blasphemers’

By Our Correspondent

TOBA TEK SINGH, May 3: A Lahore High Court bailiff raided the city police station on Wednesday night and recovered two Christian youths who had been detained in a blasphemy case.

Later, Shahzad Masih and Shaukat Masih were taken to Lahore by the bailiff to produce them before the court.

On last Eid Milad, one Faisal Gulzar was returning from a procession when Shahzad had allegedly snatched a sticker pasted on his pocket and trampled it underfoot. The sticker had the picture of `Naalain Mubarik’ of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

A blasphemy case was registered against him while his four other Christian accomplices were booked on charges of attacking the house of Faisal Gulzar and harassing family members.

A source said Shahzad Masih was the main accused in the case but the police had not entered his name in arrested persons’ record. The police arrested Shaukat Masih to pressurise him to produce his brother who was also an accused in the case.
