MANSEHRA, April 28: The District Bar Association took out a procession here on Saturday against the visit of federal ministers Mohammad Ali Durrani and Amir Muqam to Mansehra.

Lawyers holding banners and placards marched through different roads and chanted slogans against the ministers. The procession, led by DBA president Shahjehan Khan, started from the district courts building and culminated at the city’s main chowk.

Speaking on the occasion, the protesting lawyers criticised the role of the two federal ministers in the judiciary crisis and termed them “big liars”.

They said the legal community would hold peaceful rallies and demonstrations in protest against the ministers’ visit to the district.

They demanded unconditional withdrawal of the presidential reference against Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and said the government would not be allowed to destroy state institutions.
