2 murderers get life term


RAWALPINDI, April 28: Special Judge of Anti-Terrorism Court No 1 Tariq Abbasi here on Saturday awarded life imprisonment to two persons found guilty of killing a man to whom they owed money.

Fahim Raza, 24, and Waqas, 23, had kidnapped Mohammad Iqbal, a resident of glass factory area in January 2006. The killers murdered Iqbal and later dumped his body after burning it near Mandra.

The judge awarded 25 years rigorous imprisonment to both killers for the murder and imposed a fine of Rs300,000 on each convict.

In case of non-payment of fine, they would have to undergo another two years of imprisonment.

The court also awarded five years imprisonment to both for burning the body and also imposed a fine of Rs50,000. In case of non-payment they will remain in jail for another six months.—A Reporter
