SANGHAR: Chotiari canal develops breach

SANGHAR, April 28: Irrigation authorities on Saturday stopped water supply by lowering the gates of Khipro canal due to the occurrence of more than 50 feet wide breach at the RD-1 of Chotiari branch of Bakhoro sub-division. Villagers placed sand bags to plug the breach.

People said that due to weak embankments and failure in carrying out desilting made it difficult for the branch to hold the designed capacity of water.
