Walk held to mark ‘Global Action Week’

ISLAMABAD, April 27: State Minister for Education Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli on Friday said the government was committed to spreading quality education to every nook and corner of the country.

Addressing participants of a walk, the Minister said that revolutionary reforms were being introduced in education sector to prepare students of the country in line with modern requirements.

Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO organised countrywide walks on to mark the Global Action Week (GAW).

In the capital, the minister led the walk from Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat to Parade Avenue, near the Parliament.

A human chain of the participants was made as a commitment for achieving Education for All (EFA) goals.

More than 2,000 students, teachers, educationists, parliamentarians and representatives of UN agencies attended the walk.

Ms Tahirkheli said that the government was diverting more resources to education sector which was not given due attention in the past.—APP
