Lawyers told to use their expertise in public interest

ISLAMABAD, April 27: Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Rana Baghwandas on Friday advised the lawyers to use their expertise in the field of legal profession for the benefit of the public.

“Justice is the virtue of Allah, laid down by the religion and the people in the legal profession have been bestowed upon this duty,” he said while speaking at the Third Roll Signing Ceremony of the Advocates of Supreme Court held at the Supreme Court building.

Addressing the newly enrolled Advocates the Acting Chief Justice said that they were pursuing a very noble profession which ensures the rights of the people.

He said that all the newly enrolled advocates have been in the legal profession since a decade and have enough experience in the field.

He said that “Now after becoming the Advocates of Supreme Court there is a heavy duty upon your shoulders to serve the public, advance cause of justice, and you should perform your duties with hard work, dedication, sincerity and work for the supremacy of law”.

Earlier, 25 Advocates signed the roll in front of acting chief justice. Each advocate introduced himself to the ACJ. The ACJ congratulated them on their enrolment as advocate of the Supreme Court.

The Advocates who signed the Roll included Mr Saeed Ahmed, Mr Arshad Mohsin Tayebaly, Mr Nadeem Ahmad Sheikh, Syed Abid Mumtaz Tirmizi, Sh Jamal-ud-Din, Mr Aazar Latif Khan, Mr Irshad Ahmed Cheema, Mr Tariq Ali Tahir, Ch Naeem Shakir Khokhar, Mr Shakeel Ahmed Baloch, Mr Javed Iqbal Raja, Mr Zahid F Ebrahim, Mr Muhammad Noor Miskanzai, Mr Amanullah Tareen, Mr Muhammad Ismail Tayer, Mr Salman Akram Raja, Mr M A Amin Mian, Mrs Tayyab Ramzan Choudhry, Mr Ata-ul-Mohsin, Sardar Abdul Majid Dogar, Ch Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, Malik Mohammad Jamil Awan, Sheikh Naveed Masud, Sardar Mohammad Sarfraz Dogar, Mr Mohammad Wasay Tareen.
