PFF to send team, officials in AFC event

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, April 24: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), besides fielding its team in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-13 festival of football, will also send coaches and referees to attend the courses.

The festival is scheduled to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from April 25. In the 13-day C-Certificate coaching course, Adeel Ahmed and Malik Adnan Ahmed will attend from Pakistan.

Nowshera-born Adeel is two-times gold medalist of SAF Games in 2004 and 2006.

PFF recommended national referees Shahid Rashid and Mohammad Ali to visit Dhaka for three-day AFC Referees' Talent Acceleration Programme while coach Nasir Ismail of Pakistan Under-13 team, which will show its strength in the five-day event, will represent Pakistan in two-day Head Coaches Workshop (May 1-2).

In all, 33 matches will be played in the five-day long festival. First 24 matches will be of 20 minutes each and last nine will be 60-minute long. But the wins or loss will not be counted as there will be no trophy for the winners in the festival but the players will be awarded with green cards to promote fair play.
