SWABI, April 23: Security agencies and local administration officials are trying to identify the people involved in the bombing at a CD shop in a local market here late on Saturday.

Sources said on Monday that there was an urgency to find out about the culprits after the attack was dubbed a Taliban-style one which served to heighten the sense of insecurity among traders involved in the CD business.

The blast damaged four nearby shops. No one was injured in the attack.

The shop’s owner, Zahir Abbas, told police that he had received threats from people belonging to the local seminaries, asking him to close down his business.

It was learnt that Gul Zada, the market owner, had stopped other shop owners from getting involved in the CD business, telling them that while he did not want to deprive them of their livelihood, he would not allow them to trade in CDs. Most of the traders said the blast was a clear message to intimidate and harass the CD traders.
