CNG buses planned for Peshawar

PESHAWAR, April 22: The district government has finalised the plan to run CNG buses in the city.

Talking to APP on Sunday, Peshawar District Nazim Haji Ghulam Ali said that according to the plan 80 buses would run on the Khyber road between the General Bus Stand and Hayatabad with a fare of Rs5 and 10 on stop basis.

He said that a transport firm responded positively to the tenders floated by the district government.

The nazim said that the company had also presented a bus for approval.

He said that final approval would be accorded at a meeting of representatives of district government, CDMD and Traffic Police.

The nazim said that after the success of the programme on the Khyber road, more permits would be issued for running of CNG buses on other routes in the city.—APP
