KARACHI, April 22: A walk was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah here on Sunday to mark the Earth Day.

People from various walks of life including students, representatives of NGOs participated in the walk, organised by the Sindh Environment Department.

Addressing the walk participants, Sindh Environment Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed said every possible step should be taken to make the earth greener and free from environmental pollution.

Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil said the district government has initiated plantation drive in every town and at the UC level.

On the occasion, it was announced that provincial environment and alternative energy department would organize a seminar on pollution and its hazards at a local hotel on April 23.—APP
