KASUR, April 19: Unidentified gunmen broke the windowpanes of the residence of a lady doctor and opened fire on the family on Wednesday night in the Mustafabad police limits.

Dr Samra Khurram was at her home along with her family when three hooded men jumped into the house from the rear wall but found the doors locked. They broke the windowpanes of the house and opened fire at the family who was watching TV. However, none of the family members was injured.

The gunmen escaped while firing shots in the air.

Later, about one hundred people held a protest demonstration against lawlessness and marched from the hospital to the police station while raising slogans against the police.

They dispersed peacefully after assurance from police officers that the attackers would be arrested soon.
