KARACHI, April 18: As many as 86 people were deprived of their vehicles or cellphones in various localities on Wednesday.

Police sources said 22 vehicles – seven cars and 15 motorbikes – were taken away while bandits deprived 64 people of their mobile phones. Two cars and four motorbikes were taken away at gunpoint while five cars and 11 motorbikes were stolen in different city areas. Forty people complained that their cellphones were stolen while 24 others told police that they were robbed of cellphones and cash at gunpoint.

ACCIDENTS: A man died in a hit-and-run accident near Baloch Colony bridge on Sharea Faisal here on Wednesday.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. The body was later kept at Edhi morgue for identification.

On Natha Khan bridge, a man died and six others were injured when a van went out of control of the driver after its brakes failed.
