KARACHI, April 17: Pakistan hockey manager-cum-chief coach Islahuddin had his left hand put in plaster after he suffered a hair-line fracture late on Monday night at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium.
Islah later explained that he slipped in the HCP corridor while leaving for prayers at the end of players’ training session. “I initially felt no real problem but later in the night I felt great pain and rushed to A.O. Clinic with team physio,” said the former Pakistan captain.
After x-rays on his arm, Dr.Muhammad Ali Shah decided to put Islah’s hand and elbow in plaster. He, however, said that despite the injury, which will take two weeks to heal, he would continue to work at the training camp.
Forty seven probables are attending the training camp set-up for next month's 8-nation Azlan Shah Cup which will be held in Kuala Lumpur from May 5. —APP
