Awareness drive launched against hemophilia


PESHAWAR, April 17: NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has said that the government has launched an awareness campaign against hemophilia and thalassaemia.

He was addressing a function organised by the Frontier Foundation Welfare Hospital and Blood Transfusion Services, Peshawar, in connection with the International Hemophilia Day on Tuesday. Chairman of the organisation Sahibzada Mohammad Haleem highlighted the importance of the day.

The minister said the provincial government would provide all out support to social organisations engaged in the provision of health facilities to the needy people.

He announced establishment of a coordination committee for interaction between government and social societies struggling against the deadly diseases.—APP
