LONDON, April 16: Tottenham Hotspur came from behind three times to draw 3-3 at Wigan Athletic in a breathless Premier League clash on Sunday. Wigan scored in the first, 30th and 60th minutes but each time Spurs pegged them back after four, 35 and 68.

There was a dramatic finish in the day's other league game at Goodison Park where Charlton Athletic thought they had secured a vital point with an 89th-minute Darren Bent equaliser only for James McFadden to win it for Everton in injury time.

The 2-1 win took Everton up to fifth, above Bolton Wanderers on goal difference and well-placed to secure a UEFA Cup slot.

Spurs, also hoping for a return to Europe after being knocked out of this season's competition in the quarter-finals by Sevilla on Thursday, are eighth on 49 points.

Wigan have 35 points, three above the relegation zone where Charlton stand third from bottom on 32.

Wigan took the lead with a close range header from Emile Heskey but Spurs equalised when Dimitar Berbatov beat two defenders before firing home from close range.

Wigan regained the lead on the half hour when Leighton Baines curled a left-footed volley into the top far corner past the leaping Paul Robinson.

Spurs equalised for the second time with a controversial penalty converted by Robbie Keane in the 35th after Jermaine Jenas stumbled over a diving challenge by goalkeeper John Filan.

Wigan went ahead again when Kevin Kilbane headed home a corner but Spurs came back once more when Keane latched on to a clearance from Robinson and lifted a first-time effort from 30 metres over the stranded Filan.

In-form Everton were on top throughout at Goodison Park and finally went ahead in the 81st when Joleon Lescott thumped in the rebound after Scott Carson parried an Andy Johnson effort.

Bent thumped in the equaliser after 89 minutes only for McFadden to win it with a sweet volley from outside the box.
