Irrigation schemes for Balochistan

QUETTA, April 13: Over 7,000 watercourses and 6,366 water tanks are being built at a cost of Rs6 billion in various districts of Balochistan to boost agricultural production in the province. This was stated at a seminar on ‘President’s National Programme for Improvement of Watercourses and Water Tanks’ held in Quetta on Thursday.

The participants mostly farmers from Quetta, Killa Abdullah and Mastung districts were informed that out of 4,000 approved schemes, 1,786 had been completed during the current financial year.

Another 4,499 similar schemes were completed over the past two years.
