Five killed, three injured in road accident

ABBOTTABAD, April 13: Five members of a marriage party including the bridegroom were killed and three others injured in a car accident near the Chamba bridge Havelian on Friday evening.

According to details, the party of Mr Zamroo was on its way from the Afghan Mohajir camp in Mansehra to Peshawar in a car (no. PLB-4000) when it struck a truck from behind near the bridge.

The truck had broken its wheel rod and was on its way from Abbottabad to Haripur. The five occupants of the car were killed on the spot.

They were identified as Zamroo, Subahnai, Gul Semaa, six-year old Kamran and five-year old Bilal.

The three injured were Fogal w/o Zozay, Ikram and Ishrar. They were admitted to the Ayub Medical Complex where the condition of one of them was said to be critical.

The truck driver fled from the scene after the accident.
