LAHORE, April 10: Five-year-old horse, Run and Win, will be on the course to prove his worth in name by winning the feature event to be gone over the sprinting distance of 1100m during the mid-week Lahore Gymkhana races at the Racecourse on Wednesday.

Run And Win was beaten by the gelding Cross Ruff over 1300m on March 18 last and did not appear in races since then. He has only to fear the filly, Julia Robert as both are contesting in the fifth and last event of the day, The D. I. Khan Plate class V division 1 handicap race.

Julia Robert, owned by Munir Dar, has been showing a consistent improvement and placed third thrice and second twice in her five outings. Julia Robert was beaten by Miss Photogenic on April 4 last.

Bay gelding Speed Demon and bay filly Iconic are two prominent contenders for the supporting and fourth race, D.I. Khan Plate class V Division 11 to be gone over 1100m

Although placed on top of the handicap with 9-3 weight scales, Speed Demon is faster hence enjoys edge over Iconic, a slow beginner.

In the third race, the bay filly Tosca looks a good thing to have the better of her seven rivals.

Six-year-old bay mare Bosra Sham, who has not won this season, should break her duck on the win statistics table claiming the second race. Striker and Blu's Wendy may be constant threats to her way of victory.

Stride To Moment, My Shanga and Wendy are the pick of thirteen drawn for the first race. The distance, however, suits Stride To Moment.

A card of five events will be down for decision. All races will be contested over 1100m. The first race will be held at 3pm.
