FATEH JANG, April 7: The New Islamabad International Airport inaugurated by President Gen Pervez Musharraf in Fateh Jang on Saturday will be built at a cost of $400 million.
It would be the first green-field airport in the country and would have state-of-the-art facilities, maximum passenger comfort and convenience, incorporating international construction standards and reflecting the cultural heritage of Pakistan.
The design of the airport would help handle an annual traffic of 6.5 million passengers and 100,000 metric tons of cargo. It will help make Pakistan a trade and energy corridor for the regional countries through a network of roads.—PPI
