LAHORE, April 4: Fancied bay mare Miss Photogenic stormed home to win the feature event during the Lahore Gymkhana midweek races at the Racecourse on Wednesday. The event was contested over 1000 metres.

The even-money favourite, five-year-old Miss Photogenic ran admirably leading all the way from start to finish. She beat bay mare Julia Robert by a distance. Blue Fire and cobbler completed the frame among seven runners.

The best performer of the day was dark-bay colt Prince Salman, who won the third race by a distance from Bosra Sham. Fearless Boy and Tornado completed the board among seven runners.

Prince Salman was confidently backed at 40 to 100 favourite. Two favourites – Prince Salman and Miss Photogenic – won in a card of five events.

Two events were bagged by long shots – Remember You and Faryal – to surprise punters.

Lahore Race Club (LRC) stewards took serious notice of decreasing number of entries in the races and took a major step to halt this trend.

They decided to waive entry fee for horses taking part in the races.
