KARACHI, April 3: The Labour Party Pakistan (LPP) leaders condemning the government’s action against the Chief Justice of Pakistan demanded immediate reinstatement of Justice Chaudhry.
They were speaking at a demonstration held at the Karachi Press Club at the conclusion of a two-day hunger strike camp on Tuesday.
The LPP leaders said that action against Justice Chaudhry had been taken as he had refused to bow before the government’s pressure.
They demanded that the privatisation policy be abolished and all those units that had been privatised be nationalised; ban on trade unions be lifted; all the laws that were discriminatory towards women, minorities and other vulnerable sections of the society be abolished; students unions be restored; state lands be handed over to landless farmers; and all those people who had been ‘picked up’ by secret agencies be recovered immediately.
