SAHIWAL, April 2: At least five people were killed and as many others injured on Monday in a clash between two groups over a petty issue. Reports said Abbas, a retired armyman, taunted Shan (7). Shan’s father Talib Hussain and his brother Abid Hussain exchanged hot words with Abbas over the `issue’.

Meanwhile, Mudai, a brother of Abbas, pulled out a pistol and fired at Abid, killing him on the spot, ensuing an armed clash between the two groups.

Druign the clash, Mudai (65), Sabir (30) and an unidentified woman were killed, while Talib, his wife Mumtaz, Amna Bibi, Riaz and two other people were seriously injured.

Later, Talib also died at hospital where he was admitted.
