KARACHI, March 27: The navies of Pakistan and France will hold a three-day joint exercise from March 31, outside Karachi harbour.

This exercise symbolises friendly relations between navies of the two countries, said Captain Xavier Rebour, Commandant of visiting French F67 class destroyer Tourville specialised in anti-submarine warfare.

“French Navy came here last year and early this month participated in multinational naval exercise hosted by Pakistan Navy in North Arabian Sea,” Captain Xavier Rebour told newsmen on board French destroyer Tourville at Keamari on Tuesday.—PPI

Our Staff Reporter adds: A French delegation led by French Consul General Pierre Seillan, called on City Naib Nazim Nasreen Jalil on Tuesday and appreciated the performance of the city government in the development of Karachi.

The delegation of former students of French Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies was in Karachi as part of their study tour to Pakistan.

Ms Jalil welcomed the delegates and briefed them about Karachi and the functioning of the city government.

She said investors from all over the world wanted to invest their capital in the city and some 169 overseas investment companies are operating in the metropolis.
