KARACHI, March 7: Five ships carrying general cargo, chemicals and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was on the higher side where seven ships, Csav Ningbo, APL Shen Zhen, Oel Esteem with containers, Jiao Cheng, Iron Butterfly with general cargo, Victoria to load rice and Swat to offload crude oil were berthed.

Three ships, CMA CGM Simba, Amasis and Johar departed on Wednesday, while APL Shen Zhen, Iron Butterfly, Hyundai Advance, Swat and Pacific Arrow are due to sail out on Thursday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 84,314 tons comprising 28,474 tons of export cargo and 55,840 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Perka with fuel oil, Chemstar Brave with chemicals, Mol Silver Fern, Orient Independence with containers and Chitral with general cargo.
