I deserve to play again: Azhar

Published February 4, 2007

LAHORE, Feb 3: Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood, who struck back-to-back centuries in the Quaid Trophy match against Multan, said on Saturday that he had proved his performance and match-fitness in the trophy and it was up to the selectors to give him a chance now.

Azhar, with 21 Tests and 139 ODIs to his name, believes his performance should be enough to convince the selectors to give him a chance in the World Cup.

"I am doing well with both bat and ball to prove that I am still fit for the game and thank God my performance speaks for itself,” he said.
