KARACHI, Feb 1: Modest shipping activity was witnessed at the port where three ships to load unload containers, edible oil and iron ore were allotted berths at QICT, MPT and IOCB terminals, respectively, during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release.Meanwhile, three more ships to unload containers and furnace oil arrived at the outer anchorage during the same period.

Berth occupancy was recorded at 40 per cent at the port where five ships namely, ACX Tsubaki, Annie Sierra, Maple Galaxy, Beluga Revolution and Capt. George-L occupied berths to load unload containers, rice, edible oil, general cargo and iron ore, respectively, during the report period.

The port handled a cargo volume of 33,791 tons comprising 26,396 tons imports and 7,395 tons exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 838 containers (Teus).
