‘Allegations against Saddam proven wrong’
GUJAR KHAN, Jan 5: British parliament member Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said all that the allegations made by US President George Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair while attacking Iraq about Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein possessing weapons of mass destruction and having links with Al Qaeda have proven wrong.
Speaking at a reception hosted by Pakistan Muslim League, Rawalpindi, leader Raja Shaukat Aziz Bhatti, the British MP said
Sadam Hussein had been a favourite of the United States establishment when he attacked Iran in the 1980s, he was supplied weapons by the western countries and his ‘brutalities’ against the people of his country had been ignored.
Mr Sarwar said the Ummah was passing through a critical phase and the freedom of Kashmir, Palestine and Afghanistan was in jeopardy. He said the struggle for freedom of the regions was being confused with terrorism but the Muslims were fighting for their rights around the globe.
He urged the leaders of the Muslim countries to free themselves from foreign domination.
Chaudhry Sarwar said the trial of the Iraqi leader was flawed and hasty and his hanging was a violation of human rights.
The MP said that in a recent survey conducted in the United Kingdom a large number of people had termed the US president an enemy of world peace.
He accused the leadership of the country for bowing before the western powers to seek favours and prolong their rule.
