KARACHI, Dec 23: Three-day trials to select a four-member Pakistan squad to participate in next month's Amateur golf championship in Bangladesh will commence at the Lahore Gymkhana course on Tuesday, the Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) announced on Saturday.

The golf federation has invited only 22 golfers to appear in the trials due to dismal performance by the golfers in the World golf championship held in South Africa in October.

Four golfers from Sindh – Ali Sher, Mohsin Khan, Amjad Rahim and Abrar Ahmed – have left the city for Lahore to take part in the trials.

The Amateur championship will be held in Dhaka in third week of January.

Two best golfers, from the Pakistan team, who excel in Dhaka will be selected to represent the country in an Indian event to be held in Bangalore in February.—APP
