Sami shines in school basketball

KARACHI, Dec 23: Karachi Grammar School (KGS), The City School PAF Chapter, Bay View High School and South Shore School made it to the last four in the Inter-school sports league basketball tournament at the PSB Coaching Centre on Saturday.

Sami Noor emerged highest scorer with 20 points as KGS carved out 41-27 victory over Lecole School. Kumail scored 11 points for losers. The victory, second in a row, put them in the pre-finals where they are slated to meet South shore School.

The City School PAF Chapter beat South shore School 38-36 in a nerve-tingling match to register second successive win. The winners let 22-18 at half time.

Hammad Zafar was the principal scorer with 19 points. Sagar contributed 17 for losers.

Playing their second match in the day, Lecole School went down 24-39 to Bay View High School. Zain Tariq shone with 19 points.

The City School did not lag behind in the girls’ event when they beat South Shore School 28-10 for their second straight win. Zufa Ansari (11) and Farah (6) were the main scorers for winners. Sara Omer scored eight for losing outfit.
