World Cup body to discuss rains


KINGSTOWN (St Vincent), Dec 23: Members of St Vincent and Grenadines Cricket World Cup Local Organising Committee are to meet with their consultants and contractors to discuss effect torrential rains had on the tournament venues in the country.

The team will be assessing fallout from heavy rains and ensuing flood waters that affected the island, the committee's CEO Mike Findlay said.

He said while there appears to be no structural damage to buildings at main Arnos Vale Playing Field and practice venue at Sion Hill Playing Field, there was some flooding and damage.

“Sion Hill Playing Field once again experienced some flooding but this is something which has to be dealt with by the government.”—Agencies
