Terrorist enjoys edge to complete hat-trick

By Anwar Zuberi

KARACHI, Dec 16: Four-year-old chestnut colt, Terrorist, with two wins on trot has every chance to complete hat-trick in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.

The son of Bedion Invador – Tiny Tot has came out with flying colours twice at the same distance posting facile 12 lengths victory on both occasions under different riders.

Promoted to top division of class VII after last triumph he starts as our days’ best in a pack of 18 runners, barring last minute withdrawals.

He should be chased by three-year-old colt, Can’t Catch Me and 10-year-old bay mare, Sweet Grandy.

A card of eight races – first six going over a sprinting distance of five furlongs and the remaining two to six — has been drawn for the day.

The first race begins at 12.00noon.

With four successive wins to her credit, three-year-old chestnut filly, Maid’s Causeway, is again odds on favourite to land the feature event.

She is likely to be opposed by three-year-old bay colt, The Concord and chestnut, Dil Phaink, in quest to stretch her winning run.

Maid’s Causeway’s stable-mate three-year-old bay filly, Lady Conqueror, is fancied to claim the supporting event by finishing ahead of Voo Doo Doll and Laat Sahib.

A form horse, she has emerged victorious in the last two runs and in all probability should oblige punters.

Three-year-old chestnut filly, Kat Mandu, should atone for her last defeat by emerging an easy winner ahead of Paidagiree and Lucky Friend. Apart from Maid’s Causeway and Lady Conqueror, Kat Mandu also come from the stables of Syed Ismail Shah and saddled by Ehtisham.

Eight-year-old bay horse, Deniro, is poised to pick up spoils by overcoming filly, Juliat and eight-year-old Tom Cruise. Mare Sonu Love Mani may upset all calculation.

After posting a five length victory over Tom Cruise on Nov 12, he failed to finish on the board in the last three outings.

Filly Make Millions is expected to overcome a lay off by claiming the sixth race. Her likely challengers are Silent Love and King Of The Ring.

Four-year-old bay filly, Jet Zone and filly, Mari Paidagiree should make amends by capturing the remaining two races.
