QUETTA, Dec 11: A Kalpar woman has accused the Military Intelligence of arresting two days ago her 80-year-old husband, Khan Mohammad Kalpar, who was a heart patient.

Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Mumtaz Bibi appealed to the government to release her husband who, she said, had been kept in the Cantonment police station.

She claimed that she and her son had also been called by officials of the Military Intelligence and later sent to the Cantonment police station. They were kept there for a few hours and then freed.

She said the government was making claims about protecting women, but women like her were facing the oppression of intelligence agencies.

The woman alleged that the government was protecting Jalal Khan Kalpar and Jamal Kalpar who were behind the killing of her son Farman Ali and brother Mir Ahmed. She said they had been nominated in the FIR but police had not arrested them.

She also claimed that the PPL had provided jobs to members of the group who were humiliating women.

She said the government would be responsible if anything happened to her husband.
