KARACHI: Drive against vehicles sans number plates

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 11: Adviser to the Chief Minister on Home Mr Wasim Akhtar has warned of strict action against owners of vehicles plying on city roads with ‘applied for registration’ instead of registration number plate.

Chairing a meeting of senior police officers here on Monday, Mr Akhtar gave approval to launching of a campaign against such vehicles.

Taking notice of traffic congestion, especially at Quaidabad Chowk, due to ongoing developmental work, he directed the Traffic to get the illegal intercity bus terminal and vendors removed around the intersection to ensure smooth flow of vehicular traffic. He also ordered similar action against encroachers in Saddar Area. He also warned of stern action against police personnel found accepting bribes.
