KARACHI: Robbers kill three in Maymar

KARACHI, Dec 11: A contractor and his watchman were killed while one of the attackers also died in retaliatory firing in Gulshan-i-Maymar on Monday evening.

Police said contractor Zahid was overseeing the construction of a bungalow in Gulshan-i-Maymar when unknown gunmen arrived and opened fire at him.

Police said Zahid also returned the fire, but suffered multiple bullet injuries. His guard Zahir Shah was also killed in the attack.

Police said that one of the suspects also died in the retaliatory firing by Zahid.

Police said that three of the suspects escaped from the spot following the incident.

Police said the incident was the result of personal enmity.

WOMAN KILLED: A woman was shot dead in a cash-snatching incident off University Road in the limits of Sachal police station on Monday.

Police said Kalsoom, 40, was returning with her husband Khadim Husain, a sub-inspector, after withdrawing Rs500,000 from a bank branch.

They were intercepted by four men on two motorcycles near Bilawal Goth. They shot the woman on resistance and took away the cash.

The policeman escaped unhurt in the incident. Police said the woman died before she could be taken to hospital.

In another incident, an 18-year-old man was shot dead on resistance in Lyari late on Sunday night. Fatah Rehman, 18, was going home after closing his shop when he was intercepted by armed men on Mirza Adam Khan Road. They shot him taking away his cellphone and cash.
