PESHAWAR, Nov 29: NWFP Chief Secretary Ejaz Ahmed Qureishi has asked vice-chancellors of universities to take strict action if anyone violated the peaceful academic atmosphere in the educational institutions of the province.

He said that academic peace is vital for students and must be maintained at all cost..

A handout issued here on Wednesday said that the NWFP chief secretary presided over

a meeting attended by vice-chancellors of the universities, police officers and other officials.

Mr Qureishi was briefed by the vice-chancellors as well as the police authorities regarding measures taken to maintain academic peace in educational institutions.

Mr Qureishi directed the VCs to take strict legal action if anyone violated the peace in the educational institution.—Bureau
