Three killed in Kashmir

JAMMU, Nov 23: Police killed three suspected militants during a shootout in occupied Kashmir on Thursday, a senior officer said.

The gunfight occurred in Doda district, about 160 kilometres north of Jammu, said police officer Manohar Singh.

The three slain militants belonged to the Lashkar-i-Tayyaba, Singh said, citing documents recovered from them. The police claim could not be independently verified.—AP
