‘Mediator’ shot dead

KASUR, Nov 23: Two men, including a mediator, were shot dead while two others injured in Saadpur village, Khudian.

Police said accused Gohar Khan had not been enjoying his marriage with Surayya. He used to maltreat her. About a month ago, Gohar divorced Surayya.

Surayya’s father, who was a tenant of landlord Ghulam Husain, requested him to resolve the disputer However, Gohar got furious on the intervention of Ghulam and both exchanged hot words.

On Wednesday night, Ghulam Husain, along with his colleagues Shahzad Husain, Ghulam Rasool, Ashiq and Pahalwan reached Saadpur village on a business trip and stayed at the house of Muhammad Husain Baloch.

Baloch’s wife Salma was serving the guests when Gohar and accomplices forcibly entered the house and shot dead Ghulam Husain. Salma and Ashiq sustained serious injuries.— Correspondent
